Senior Solution Architect
Can you turn complex business needs into scalable digital architecture and shape solutions where AI is a natural part of both the product and the way we build it?
Are you good at seeing the full technical picture without losing sight of the details? Do you enjoy turning complex business requirements into clear, scalable solutions? And are you just as comfortable discussing architecture with developers and clients?
Then you might be the Senior Solution Architect we are looking for at Knowit.
As our Senior Solution Architect, you will help shape scalable and future-proof architecture for our clients’ digital platforms. We design and build complex web solutions for clients across many industries, and AI plays a growing part in that work. It shows up as intelligent features in the platforms we deliver and as a natural part of how our teams develop software.
You will be involved from the early stages of a project through implementation and continued development. Along the way, you will help connect business needs, user requirements and technical possibilities, making sure that our solutions work in practice and not just on paper.
The role
You will work closely with project managers, designers, UX professionals, developers, and clients. Together, you will turn requirements and ideas into digital solutions that are robust, maintainable, and ready to evolve.
In this role, AI is part of everyday work rather than a separate discipline. You will help decide when AI adds value to a solution, how it is integrated responsibly, and how our teams use AI tools without compromising quality, security or compliance.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
Shaping the overall architecture for new and existing digital platforms
Translating business requirements into clear technical solutions
Making well-founded decisions about platforms, technologies and integrations
Designing scalable and maintainable solutions across backend and frontend
Defining how content platforms, APIs, AI services and third-party systems work together
Assessing where AI adds value in a client solution and where a simpler approach serves the client better
Driving the responsible use of AI-assisted development in our teams, including coding standards, guardrails and governance
Identifying technical risks, dependencies and trade-offs early in the process, including data privacy and compliance considerations when AI is involved
Contributing to technical estimates, workshops and client discussions
Supporting high-quality delivery through coding standards, development practices and documentation
Staying curious about new technologies and bringing relevant, well-evaluated ideas into our projects
And naturally, you will not be doing it alone. You will work alongside skilled colleagues across technology, design, UX and project management. We take shared responsibility for creating solutions that make sense for the client, the users, and the people who will maintain them afterwards.
Who are you?
You have a strong technical foundation and are comfortable moving between architecture, development and client dialogue.
You know that good architecture is not about choosing the most impressive technology. It is about understanding the problem, asking the right questions, and making decisions that create value over time. You approach AI the same way. You are curious and hands-on, you evaluate before you adopt, and you can explain both the potential and the limitations to a client in plain language.
You work in a structured way and can explain complex technical topics clearly. You are open about uncertainties, willing to challenge assumptions and curious enough to change your mind when a better solution appears.
What we are looking for
We hope you can cross of most of the following:
At least five years of experience in web development or solution architecture, ideally from an agency or consultancy
Hands-on experience across modern backend and frontend technologies in common languages, such as C#, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Python, or similar. Experience with .NET-based and CMS systems is a plus.
A thorough understanding of common integration patterns and experience with integrations e.g. with CRM, ERP, PIM, CMS, gateways and other third-party systems
Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude, and an informed view on how they fit into a professional delivery process
Practical experience with CI/CD across different hosting models, from managed PaaS to containers and client-operated environments, e.g. pipeline design, quality gates, supply chain security
An understanding of the compliance and governance side of AI/GDPR/NIS2 etc., including data privacy, security and the requirements that follow from regulation such as the EU AI Act
Experience working with project managers, designers, UX professionals and clients to connect technical architecture with business needs.
The ability to turn complex requirements into clear architectural decisions and practical technical plans in both project and bid scenarios.
A structured approach to coding standards, development best practices and documentation

Would you like to join Knowit?
Instead of a traditional application, we would like to hear how you approach solution architecture in practice. You do not need to write at length or make it overly formal. Concrete experiences and honest reflections tell us much more than polished buzzwords.
When you apply, we would like you to answer one or more of the questions below.
Tell us about a digital platform where you shaped or significantly changed the solution architecture. What challenge were you solving, which decisions and trade-offs did you make, and what was the outcome?
Describe a project where you connect business needs with a complex technical landscape, such as a CMS, CRM, payment solution, APIs or other third-party systems. What was your role, and how did you arrive at an architecture that could work and evolve in practice?
Give us an example of how you have used AI in your work, whether in a client solution or in your own development process. What worked, what did not, and how did you decide where to draw the line?
Use specific projects as context where possible and tell us what you would bring from those experiences into the role at Knowit.
Send us your CV and application through the application link. We review applications and invite candidates for interviews on an ongoing basis.
